What is the difference between a Facebook Page and a Facebook Profile, you ask? The most common user account is a Facebook profile. It is personal in nature where you can add your business or personal websites. You can integrate business related imports such as your blog or feeds such as FriendFeed and Twitter.

A Facebook Page is actually a page that promotes a business, a music group, favorite TV show or politician. It is not as easily found on Facebook how to create these pages. These pages are free, however, you can pay to do some advertising campaigns. There are various applications that you can add to these pages as well but they aren’t as interactive as your main profile page.

Your main profile page allows you to have up to 5,000 friends. I know most of you are thinking why would I want more than that? Well it all depends on what your focus is on Facebook. The Facebook page, however, is unlimited to the number of fans that join your group. This is a great way to capture more customers, fans or friends when you reach your personal profile limit.

Entrepreneurs can use their Facebook profile to tell others all about themselves. Many times, businesses never really have a chance for potential clients to learn more about the person or people who run the business.

More focus is put on advertising, growing the business and promoting its products or services. With a social networking page on social sites like Facebook, customers and other business associates get a chance to find out about the person behind the business.

Businesses use Facebook pages to showcase products or give customers a place to ask questions and record comments about the products they have used. They can talk to each other and compare notes. Big businesses with famous brand names use Facebook to gain insights into consumer trends.

Facebook can be useful for communities trying to create a closer knit group of families. Homeschooling parents can create a network of support for each other and their kids. Facebook has a variety of uses both for business and personal reasons.

Here are a few Facebook Tips that I implement on a daily basis that bring me new customers:

1. Update my status on a daily basis (sometimes 2x’s / day)
2. Give a birthday shout out for all of my friends
3. Comment on other statuses / Click on Like for activities or links that interest you
4. Become fans of a number of Facebook Pages

All of these strategies provide visibility for your business which in turn can create customers.
