Osain “Lightning” Bolt Sets New World Record
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnBpnltTrMo&hl=en&fs=1]
I haven’t had much luck trying to record various events of the Olympics on my DVR. I recorded a few events a few weeks ago and I didn’t realize it was the Olympic trials. I attempted to record gymnastics a few days ago but when I watched it, it said Gymnastics in Canada in 2007? What in the world am I doing wrong? I guess I’m not doing the right search on my DVR. By the time I figure it out, the Olympics will be over! I see that I have to call Time Warner Cable and find out what is the problem.
I have a love for gymnastics and track and field as I’ve been actively involved in both as a child. That is just to name a few sports. I started out with T-ball, which then evolved into softball. I can’t forget bowling which surprisingly, I have the biggest trophies from that particular sport. For some reason, I just didn’t like soccer but basketball soon took over and was my favorite of all. I became involved with volleyball and track in my later high school years. I wish I would have started earlier because I did so well in both sports that with more time to perfect my skills, I could have been a city champion in the hurdles. But I digress, let’s get back to reality and my frustration at not being able to record any of the Olympics.
I had to find out about a new world record that was set in Track and Field from someone else. Osain “Lightning” Bolt won the gold for the 100 meter race in 9.79 seconds. I wish that I could be that much at ease while running this race called life. He seemed to run the race so effortlessly and full of grace. We have ups and downs in business and in life and my goal is to handle success and failure with as much grace as Osain Bolt. Be a lightning bolt in life and watch where it takes you. You may just set a new world record.

Be a Lightning Bolt In Your Business!
Simple & Proven Methods To Share Your Unique Opportunity
If your like me then getting people to see your opportunity can be one of the most difficult tasks, right? Can you imagine having countless people looking at your unique opportunity on a daily basis? Just suppose you could have just one additional person every week join your business? Certainly that would help you reach your goals and dreams a little faster. There’s nothing quite like having the right tools for the job.
One of the top tools is to brand yourself. It is the process of letting people know about who you are as a person. People are more inclined to buy from you if they know you on a more personal level. Most advertisements tell you about how to get get rich quick and how they made $10,000 in a week. But most people won’t share that is took months prior to that of building their contact lists. The best way to build that contact list is by building relationships. The top activities to brand yourself are:
1. Join several forums and discussion groups in target markets.
2. Make time to get to know people on a personal level in these groups. I often send personal birthday notes and people really appreciate the thoughtfulness and take that into account.
3. Express yourself and even add real life experiences so people will see how you handle life in certain situations.
4. Clarify your goals in your particular niche market
Passing on the Legacy
Last weekend was a wild one with my 6 year old son having to take a trip to the ER. He decided to put an eraser from the top of a pencil deep into his ear canal. I don’t know why he thought that would be fun but I guess that’s his stage in life right now. It was so deep that tweezers were not getting the job done. He was only in pain when anyone attempted to take it out but other than that he played around like there was no problem.
I had a lot of things going on that day so I decided to take him to the ER late at night so he and my 3 year old daughter wouldn’t be running around the place. Did I mention that my husband was out of town? I think that’s a big detail that I left out. DRAMA!
Before we left, I was on the computer and my 3 yr old came over to me and asked, “Mom, are you on the internet?” I turned around so shocked that she knew about the internet and said “Yes, sweetie I am. Do you get on the internet at school?” Then I put her in my lap and we talked about her pre-school activities with computers and I told her how the internet is so powerful and can make money while we are sitting there having our chat. I can only imagine where our internet business will be once she’s in high school. I envision our children taking over the family internet business.
We already have our 14 year old videotaping our Youtube videos and uploading them for us. He has also helped us with the layouts of our Facebook and Myspace pages. Just as we pass on the legacy of the importance of God as number one in our lives, we must pass on the legacy of working hard and being financially free to give more in this world.
So as we piled into the car heading to the ER, I braced myself for the upcoming screams that I knew would come from my son. It took 2 different forceps, 2 doctors to hold him down and enough screaming to wake up the entire city before the eraser came out. The first thing out of his mouth was “Mom, I learned my lesson. I will never do that again.” I just smiled at him and said, “There will be many lessons in life that you will learn. I just hope the most important ones will stay with you forever.”
LIVE LIFE TO THE FULL!
What did I want to be when I grew up as a young child? I have been blessed with many talents so my list ranged from author, lawyer, runway model, engineer and CEO of a major corporation. It is very common to be strong in English and weak in Math or vice versa, however I happened to do well in both subjects. My desire for Math took over in my high school years and I surprised my step-father when I told him that I wanted to be an engineer. I was very shocked by his response as I assumed he would say “Go for your dreams. You can do anything that you set your mind to do. I believe in you.”
In reality, he said “First of all you have two things against you. You are African American and you are a woman. It will be practically impossible to accomplish that goal.” Most people would have been discouraged with those words but being blessed with determination as well that just fueled the fire within me even more.
Although he is no longer my step-father, I always make sure my younger brother and sister let him know that I graduated from the University of Southern California engineering school and had been an engineer with the Boeing Company for 10 years. Isn’t it ironic that his desire was to be a lawyer and he has a degree in Political Science but yet his current job is a security guard? Hmm..I wonder if his attitude got in the way. Maybe he still believes that he can’t achieve his dreams because he is an African American male. It is possible that his perception became his reality.
Even after 10 years of being an Engineer, I went after another childhood dream of becoming a CEO of a major corporation, my own corporation! That dream was realized when I received my mortgage broker’s license and along w/my husband we have a very successful mortgage and real estate company: Premier Equity Group, Inc. and Premier Realty Group. I’ve worked from home with my husband for the past 3 years (at the time of this writing) as he’s been in the business for a total of 6 years.
During these same years, we’ve also been engaged with several online internet marketing companies that are taking the world by storm! Get on the internet wave! We are firm believers in multiple streams of income. Life is too short to not go after your dreams. Don’t let anyone keep you down. Stay positive and focus on your dreams. Live your life to the fullest and go make those dreams a reality!!!
