Real Estate Peeps, Are You Using Twitter Lists?

As I mentioned in my previous Twitter list post, I have been brainstorming various ways to utilize Twitter lists in your real estate and mortgage business.
**Are you tired of hearing your own voice on Twitter and your Facebook business page?**
**How about engaging with other people that are in your particular market?**
**How about promoting other GREAT content from around the web?**
I have been using one of the best platforms to manage your social media efforts:
HOOTSUITE.COM
Here are my TOP Reasons for using this site:
- I can manage my Twitter account, Facebook business page, Facebook profile, LinkedIn and Twitter Lists ALL from this site!
- Most people prefer Tweetdeck but it tends to load slowly, NOT true for Hootsuite.
- I can easily keep up with my different Twitter groups of friends and business colleagues.
- I can easily RT great content from my Twitter Lists and provide value.
Here is a quick screenshot from my mortgage & real estate investing Twitter list:
As you can see, this is a great way to keep up with certain people. Vickie Irwin is coming out my way so it was very natural for me to send her a tweet, “The weather is GREAT out here in LA, let me know if you have time for a meetup!”
Here are 5 Ways to Use Twitter Lists in Your Business
- Group friends by location and keep an eye out for local events
- Group friends by particular niches and promote their content
- Find ways to engage with new people by finding similar interest tweets
- Group friends by specific events or webinars that you attended
- Find out how your friends would like to be listed on Twitter
So there you have it! What are your thoughts? Do these ideas sound hokie? Do you think it will bring more people to your site? Feel free to shut me up in the comments!

Which Twitter Lists Define You?

I need your help in developing my Twitter Lists. As you know, Twitter Lists are the hottest topic in social media right now. I have read several articles on how to define my lists, however I want to hear YOUR feedback.
**********************************************************************************
Which Twitter List Defines You?
What Category Would Make You Hold Your Head Up High?
**********************************************************************************
I have seen some funny names for twitter lists:

“Too sexy for their shirt” and yes someone added me to that list.
I was super honored to be included on the following list:
“Entrepreneurs on the fast track” with a number of people following that list.
***************************************************************************************************************
Which leads me to an INCREDIBLE IDEA for everyone to implement right away. Go to each person’s list that you are listed and THANK them for adding you to their list. Now for some people this could be a year long project!
**************************************************************************************************************
I will be taking the next several weeks implementing this appreciation idea and continuing on as one of my daily Twitter tasks.
Here are some categories that I would feel super proud to be associated with:

Business Blogger
Social Media Strategist
Real Estate Social Media Marketing
Mortgage Social Media Marketing
Fitness Blogger (Bet you didn’t know that one, eh?)
So go ahead [Don't Be Shy], no matter what industry or line of work that you are in, list your ideas of how you would love to be listed in the comments. I want to be able to make you smile. How do you want to be remembered in the Twitterverse?

How To Use Twitter Lists

Twitter has finally released their new Twitter List Feature. However, it is only being released to a certain amount of users. You will need to check your Twitter account often to see if your account has been activated before you can start using the feature. It will be obvious that your account has been activated because you will see the list feature on your account.
You can view this Twitter List demo video by Mari Smith which she recorded live at BlogWorld Expo 2009. It gives you an idea of how you can use this new feature. Of course, there will be a follow-up post here at Social Media Marketing as I work with Twitter lists on my own. I will give ideas how to use this feature in your mortgage and real estate business. For now, get a sneak peak with this video.
